Why Homoeopathy?
Dr.Hahnemann the father of Homoeopathy, bases Homoeopathic Science on the principle of nature’s law of cure, that is, to bring about gentle and permanent cure by raising body’s vital force to such an extent that the body overcomes the diseases process and gets back to its normal, healthy self without causing any adverse side effects.
One of the special features of Homoeopathy is the preparation of medicens.
Potency. Homoeopathy differs from other systems of medicen in the preparation of remedies though the drug substances may be the same. Homoeopathic medicines are potintised medicens. What is potency? Potency means inner or physical strength. It can also be defined as the dynamic property of a drug which is released, enhanced and maintained by the dynamisation method. Dynamisation is also known as potintisation, which in turn, means the liberation of the hidden power of the drug. Homoeopathic potintisation, therefore is a mathmetico mechanical process for the reduction, according to scale, of crude, inert or poisonous medical substances to a state of physical solubility, physiological assimilability and therapeutic activity and harmlesness, for use as Homoeopathic healing remedies.
Advantages derived from potintisation of the drug
1 Certain substances which are poisonous in crude form such as Mercury, Strychnine Ars and Snake poison, can be rendered harmless and be transformed into beneficial healing remedies. For example, snake poison when taken in its crud form would kill a person, but when it is Homoeopathically prepared it can stop the worst kind of bleeding. Ars is another poisonous substance which when used in Homoeopathy immediately controls diarrhoea and vomiting caused by food poisoning.
2 Certain substances which are inert in crude form,such as metals like Aurum (gold) ,Platinam, Calc Carb, and Charcoal, can be changed and activated. For example Gold (Aurum Metallicum) ,1M potency can put an end to sucidal tendencies.
3 Certain drugs are already active in their natural state but can be further activated and their sphere of action broadend. Potencies can be low, starting from. O to about 3x….6 x .Medium potencies range from 30 to 200 and high potencies from 1 M to 10 M on wards. The higher the potency the lesser the drug. But the higher the energy. It is all based more or less on the theory of the atomicbomb. The bomb gets its energy from the splitting of the nuclei (central cores) of uranium or plutonium atoms.the relationships between mass and energy put forth by the great mathematician Albert Einstein explains how the fission of heavy atoms can produce energy. Similarly in Homoeopathy the drug substances, that is small atoms, are spilt into even smaller atoms generating more and more energy.
