HUMILIATION
AND
MORTIFICATION.

*Humiliation :- to make someone feel ashamed or lose respect for himself or herself.

*Mortification :- Definition of mortification. 1 : the subjection and denial of bodily passions and appetites by abstinence or self-inflicted pain or discomfort.

Mortification is the feeling of being completely humiliated.

Mortify :- obsolete : to destroy the strength, vitality, or functioning of.

If you go through a original definition of humiliation and mortification, and think of them combined then you would get a exact individual feel of both which would differentiate each other.

First thing, mortification comes after humiliation.

e.g.

After that incidence of humiliation he just lost interest in living , not paying attention to eat and drink, lost a enjoyment in life, feeling lifeless, no sleep, no proper meals, no attention on daily business, just like mortifying(destroying) himself as after loosing life within himself.

DAY BY DAY DYING THOUGH WHILE LIVING.

Mind - Ailments from mortification.

Here I am sharing interesting discussion in between me and one fellow of Homeopathy.

Original Statement by
Dr. Samadhan Ghule : By definition Humiliation and Mortification are two different rubrics.

Objection by Fellow :

Mortification and Humiliation are both same because they form single rubric. Any differentiation of rubric is appreciable only if confers some meaning. I say both are same because if you try to see in SYNTHESIS Repertory
AILMENTS FROM HUMILIATION it gives you a direct cross reference as SEE MORTIFICATION

And if you refer complete repertory you may be happy to see both the words in same rubric.

AILMENTS FROM HUMILIATION MORTIFICATION CHAGRIN

Thus it indicates that as a repertorian these two words form a single rubric and imply for similar state of mind.

Clarification on objection by Dr.Samadhan Ghule :

My friend have put his view very ardently that both Mortification and Humiliation are same , he forced his opinion on the basis of cross reference , the remedy shared by both are same
(Mind - Ailment from - humiliation ( see mortification )

Good , but now my dear friend please answer my following questions :

Mind : - Humiliated ; feeling -
Ara-maca, Staph.

( If humiliation and mortification are the same rubric then in above rubric why mortification is not mentioned with or even in cross reference ? And wait, more interesting thing is the remedy Ara.mac is listed under the rubric 'humiliated, feeling' but not under the any rubric of mortification like ailment from mortification.
Dear friend , still you have the same opinion that humiliation and mortification are the same rubric ?

Let us go further, still it is more interesting !

Mind - humiliated ; after being - Carc.

( If again humiliation and mortification are the same rubrics
then why only Carc. is here and why not other medicines related to mortification ? )

Mind - weeping - mortification, after - Cocc, Coff, Coloc, Pall, Puls, Vanil

Mind - Weeping - humiliation; after - Carc.

( See again my dear friend, the remedies are total different indicated for 'weeping after mortification' and 'weeping after humiliation' , still my friend are you thinking humiliation and mortification are the same ? )

Mind - dullness - mortification, after - Ign, Lach , Staph.

( Here also only mortification is mentioned , not cross reference of humiliation, if you take humiliation and mortification as a same then you would lose this great key note.)

Ailment from - mortification - indignation ; with - Staph.

( Ultimately to understand this unique single remedy rubric of staph , you have to understand mortification in its exact sense , and you could not take one for other , as Repertory only given it uniquely.)

Now tell my friend , still you are thinking both mortification and humiliation are the same ?

At last my some words of advice as a teacher of Repertory :

Don't take cross references as exact option for original rubrics every time as cross references are just to guide you to select the correct one rubric , and don't take it as exact option for other , if as it is there then no need to give cross reference .

Please everyone should firm about their opinion but don't be too obstinate to agree the truth .
