INDICATIONS FOR USING POTENCIES

INDICATIONS FOR USING POTENCIES
✔This has always been a controversial issue. But a few simple rules may be given. Involved in this problem are: the vital force of the patient, disease force and the drug force.
(1) If pathology, is much advanced and there are not many homoeopathic (characteristic) indications, give a low potency.
(2) In complaints of the skin, start with 30th or 200th and go higher as the patient improves.
(3) When the patient's vitality is low (prolonged illness, bedridden), start with 200th and go higher with improvement.
(4) Where patient's vitality is high (child or old age) and if the symptoms of the remedy (especially generals and modalities) match those of the patient well, give high, say 1M, one or two doses, 12 hourly. Let the repetition be decided according to the patient's response. Don't be afraid to repeat (or even go to a higher potency) if the response is favourable, but a few more doses are required to complete the cure.
(5) The higher the potency, the less frequent the repetition, say, once a week.
(6) Give time for the medicine to act (especially 1M and 10M).
(7) Stop medication when patient reports at least 80% improvement. 30th potency or lower and slowly raise the potency as the patient improves.
